What is the criteria for the scholarship recipient?
The scholarship recipient does not have to be a top scholar. The scholarship recipient will have the following characteristics:
- Has faced challenges while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Always done their best to keep a smile on their face and to make others smile.
- Through their quiet determination have inspired others to do their best.
- Has established a balance and contentment in their life by performing to the best of their abilities without offering excuses or finding blame for their shortcomings.
- Has treated others with respect.
- Has earned the respect of others.
- Will pursue continuing education after graduation from high school.
(Continuing education is to be liberally interpreted and will include a full schedule of courses at trade school, community colleges, colleges or universities.)
- Must be a graduating senior at Allegany-Limestone, Archbishop Walsh, Hinsdale, Olean, or Portville.
